Overheating is a common issue for laptops. This may occur when dust clogs the heat sink, which will stop the flow of air. Learn how to clear the air flow by cleaning the cooling fans of Toshiba laptops.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Compressed air can
  1. Step 1

    Turn off the laptop, close the lid, flip it upside down and rest it on a flat surface.

  2. Step 2

    Locate the cooling fan, which is under the vents on the bottom of the laptop.

  3. Step 3

    Spray the compressed air can inside the vents for 5 to 10 seconds. Change the air direction until all the dust is cleared.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have trouble locating the vents, turn the laptop on and place your hand underneath the laptop. Feel for the air flow, which will indicate the location of the cooling fan.
