Pirate with a headband

Little boys love to get in to character and one of the characters they portray the most often is a pirate. They may want to have a pirate birthday party or dress up like a pirate for Halloween. They may even want to pretend to be a pirate just for fun on a weekend. You can help your child do this by tying on their pirate headband.

Things You'll Need

  • Bandanna (skull and crossbones pattern preferred)

Instructions

    • 1

Fold the bandanna in to the shape of a triangle. This is done by taking one corner and folding it in half to meet the corner on the opposite end.

    • 2

Place the flat edge of the headband around the forehead near the hair line. Two edges will be at either end and the point will hang over the back of the head.

    • 3

Tie the two edges together in a knot behind the head. Make sure it is tight so the headband doesn't slide off.

    • 4

Tuck the back end of the headband under the knot that you just made. You now have a pirate headband.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can tie the headband on yourself, but a child may require an adult to it for them.

  • If the headband is going on a girl, be careful you don't tie any of her hair in with the knot.
