How to Get Kids to Take Fish Oil Capsules
Fish oil is rich in Omega-3, which improves brain function and cardiovascular health and relieves inflammation. Fish oil may also help children with attention deficit disorder, according to studies in Britain and Australia. Researchers found that fish oil calms children without the nasty potential side effects of medication. But to get your child to take fish oil you may have to be a little sneaky.

1
Use a pin to put a hole in a liquid fish oil capsule. Squeeze the liquid into a teaspoon and have your child drink it down. Some children won't mind taking it this way. As this is the easiest method, try it first.
-
2
Pop the fish oil capsule open with a pin and pour one teaspoon on a piece of bread. Fold the area over so the child does not see it before eating.

3
Pour a teaspoon of fish oil in a container of yogurt and mix it up. This method only works if your child normally eats an entire container of yogurt. The taste of the oil should not be noticeable.
-
4
Make a smoothie out of strawberry yogurt, ice, a banana, and a little pineapple juice. Add the fish oil liquid and combine. Your child will never know that the fish oil is in the smoothie.
-
5
Pour the spoonful of fish oil over a salad and then add dressing. Again, this will only work if your child is sure to eat the whole salad.

Tips & Warnings
You can mix the fish oil in with your child's cup of juice. Make sure the fish oil package reads "pharmaceutical grade" and that the EPA/DHA ratio is 40/20.
Always consult your pediatrician before giving your child any type of supplement, if for no other reason than to make sure it does not interact with other medicine your child is taking.
