Giant wolf pillars decorate the outside, and the theme continues with a tree-shaped staircase, solid wood furniture, a huge stone fireplace and an animated forest show playing several times a day. View the indoor water park, maintained at 84 degrees F year-round, through the glass wall across one side of the lobby.

  1. Book a Room

      Find a room to suit your needs. All rooms are suites with two queen or 1one king-size bed. Coffeemakers, sofa beds and flat-screen televisions are standard in each room.

      Make the occasion really special with a Wolf Den, Kids Kamp or Kids Cabin room. These rooms include a set of bunk beds tucked into a tent or cave, with their own television and Nintendo game system for the kids.

      Check the website for room deals. These are available by the month, and package specials, such as rooms including breakfast or activities, can be purchased while making your online reservations.

      Take your little one to the water park to a specially designed section for little ones only. Make a wolf in the build-a-bear-style workshop. Cub Club has a variety of daily crafts and games for the younger crowd.

      Let your teens and tweens explore on their own in the Northern Lights arcade with games for all ages and interests. Patrons collect tickets to be redeemed at the counter for a variety of prizes. Gr8 space is where teens can kick back with a Wii, computers and other electronic equipment.

      Don't miss the water park! The four-story park has a 1,000-gal. bucket that dumps on those standing below every few minutes. The wave pool howls before the waves begin. The current pond carries riders around a small circuit. There are seven indoor slides, two outdoor slides and an outdoor pools for all bravery levels.

      Visit the Magic Shop and play the Magic Quest game. This game is a little pricey but well worth it, as it takes you all over the eight-story hotel. Pointing a wand at inanimate objects make them come alive with clues or progress reports for your quests. One quest ends with an epic virtual battle with a big-screen dragon located in a portal in the basement.

      Check out the Loose Moose Cottage in the main lobby for a bountiful buffet of delicious foods. In the evening, kids' choices include chicken nuggets, pizza, and macaroni and cheese. French, Italian and Asian cuisine is delicious and plentiful on the rest of the buffet, which also has a dessert section.

      Snack at the Pizza Hut Express, Starbucks, the Bear Paws Snack Shop or the water-park snack shop that are located all over the hotel. Camp Critter restaurant is located on the fourth floor and overlooks the massive lobby.

      Bring your own food for the most affordable option. Families can be seen bringing in large coolers with their luggage. Each suite has a dorm-sized fridge and microwave for guests' use.

      Shop at the Buckhorn Exchange for much more than a standard gift shop experience. Designer clothes and jewelry are plentiful. The Swim Shop can provide anything you might have forgotten, such as swimwear, swim gear and cover-ups.

      Design your own Crocs by choosing a shoe base, straps and Jibbitz on the bottom floor of the hotel. Airbrushed temporary tattoos are also available for guests of all ages.

  • Take your own food for breakfasts and snacks. The Loose Moose Cottage food is delicious but expensive for three meals a day. The hotel is very big. Bring cell phones or walkie-talkies to keep track of each other.
