    • 1

Place parchment paper inside a terra cotta flower pot. Fill with 1 measuring cup of birdseed, to see how many cups you will need for your particular pot. Then pour the birdseed into a bowl.

    • 2

Whisk 2 egg whites for every cup of seed you needed to fill your pot. The egg whites should be a little fluffy. Mix into the birdseed well.

    • 3

Place the birdseed mixture in the pot over the parchment paper. Push the mixture in well to make sure it fills the pot.

    • 4

Cut a piece of craft wire 6 inches longer than the height of the pot. Wrap 1 end around a pencil and then pull the pencil out. Push the wire, pointed end first into the birdseed mixture until the pointed end comes out the hole in the bottom of the pot. Pull the wire through until the circled end goes into the birdseed.

    • 5

Place the pot in your oven with the wire hanging through the rack. Bake the mixture at 100 to 120 degrees F for about 90 minutes. Take out and let cool.

    • 6

Turn the pot over and the bell should come right out of the pot. Pull off the parchment paper if it stuck to the bell. The bell will be hard. Take the bell outside and hang on a tree.
