How to Get Free Stuff in Tibia
Tibia is a massive multiplayer online roleplaying game, much like World of Warcraft except not as widely known or expensive. The game may seem simple at first, but it can be overwhelming for newcomers, especially since the game, like any online community, is full of players with questionable social skills who will throw "n00b" around at the drop of a hat. Sometimes it is difficult to find good help for Tibia, and this guide aims to help new players get started.

Getting Free Stuff
-
6
Once you begin playing, you won't be able to get much free stuff until you reach Level 8, at which point you may leave Rookgard and go to the Mainland. Once there, you have many more options and there are higher level players available to interact with.

Getting better equipment is one of the most critical things you can do to improve your character, just like in any massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). The absolute best way to get your hands on some free items is by joining a guild. If you befriend players who are guild members, they can help you by asking their guild leader to let you join. Guild members are usually willing to pass along secondhand items or equipment that is obsolete for their level. See the Warnings section for more information about this step.

If you are having trouble finding a guild, your next best option for free stuff is to go on a quest. Quests in Tibia usually have level requirements, so you will have to start off small. One of the best low-level quests is the Desert Quest, available at Level 20.

Another option for getting free stuff is a bit of thievery. Good hunting sites are always full of players who are fighting monsters to gain experience and get some loot. Often, however, a player will run out of carrying capacity and will be forced to leave items behind. Following a player as he kills monsters and checking kills after he leaves will usually yield some decent items or gold. See the Warnings section about using this tactic.

If all else fails, you can try simply asking for free items or donations under the game's many chat buttons. However, you will rarely find anyone willing to simply give things away without compensation

Tips & Warnings
When choosing a server during character creation, stay away from PvP servers until you get more experience playing Tibia. Low-level characters without friends to protect them tend to be killed quickly. Tibia is a game which requires time and patience. If you put in the time, your character will become more powerful and the game will be more fun for you.
Normally, guild leaders require that players wishing to join are a certain level. Don't be surprised if you are rejected from several guilds because you just got out of Rookgard. Having a guild member vouch for you sometimes helps you hurdle this requirement. Following someone and taking loot from their kills will quickly annoy the one you are following, and they will likely use strong language and insults to get rid of you.
