1. Decide what you will be selling home decor candles, or scented candles, and maybe you have decided to sell candle making supplies as well, even scented oils, lotions, and accessories.

2. 

   To get started on your business you should find a great location. Look at empty buildings in a very busy business section with lots of shopping traffic. Or it can be home based.

3. Obtain the proper license or permit to operate your business.

5. Make sure you advertise so that the public knows that you are in business. Make flyers, start a website to promote your business. Even go as far as to host or have family members and friends to host parties to help get the word out about your business.

6. 

   Be prepared to work long hours, decide what your goal is.

7. Finally create brochures, pamphlets with pictures and prices of your products. Purchase or make and always carry your business cards with you and pass them out. Include your business name, your name, your business address, and phone number. Add your website address also.

8. Create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere by recognizing and greeting your regular customers by their names.
