Self Publish Novels

So you have written a novel and now you want to know how to self publish it? There a many reasons you may want to self publish, maybe you can't get a publisher, maybe you want to make more on the sale of your book. I don't care why, but this is how I would do it if I was you.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Time
  • A self written novel
  • Money or an Investor
  1. Step 1

    Write the novel.
You can't publish something that hasn't been written! Make sure your novel falls inline with the norms. An average novel will be between 35,000 and 150,000 words.

  2. Step 2

    Editing / Proofreading
The next step (if you are serious about publishing) is to have a third party review, edit and offer advice about your novel. Sometimes it's hard to handle criticism but this step is crucial.

  3. Step 3

    Publishing / Printing
After written and edited your novel now needs to be printed. There are many decisions in this step. The most important is how and where to get your book printed. There are tons of online resources that do nothing but print books. Ask around and check with the BBB before making a decision. These companies are easy to find.

Here's a quick yahoo search for you: http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=UTF-8&y=Search&fr=yfp-t-313&p=book+printing+companies&rs=0&fr2=rs-top

  4. Step 4

    Marketing
Your next step after receiving the freshly printed books is to sell them. This can be the tricky part, especially for a new author. You need to market your book by advertising, book signing, selling online and asking every book store you can find to purchase a few for their inventory.
