Homemade whipped butter is easy to make and is very delicious. It will make food tastier. This article will tell you how to make delicious whipped butter. Does this Spark an idea?

  • A container of heavy cream. (one gallon will produce about three pounds of butter)

      Purchase a container of 'heavy cream' available at any grocery store. Heavy cream without any added sugar is recommended.

      Refrigerate a large bowl to chill it before making the butter.

      Leave the cream out until it has reached room temperature. When it has, pour all of it into the chilled large bowl.

      Whip the cream (preferably with an electric mixer) until it gets stiff. Gradually slow your mixing.

      The butter will go from different stages until it starts to look like 'whipped cream'. The cream will turn into butter and buttermilk. Taste it to make sure it tastes like butter. If it doesn't, whip it some more.

      If you don't plan on eating the butter within 24 hours, it needs to be washed to prevent spoiling too quickly. You can wash it by placing the butter in a blender with cold water. Mix it on low speed for about a minute. Drain the water. Repeat this process until the water is clear. (It in usual to repeat this process at least 5 times)

      Finish draining the water. Press any water out of the butter using a spoon with your hand.

  • If your going to freeze the butter (lasts about 3 months), don't salt so it will last longer.

  • Use the butter for any cooking or baking.

  • Save money by buying the cream in bulk.
