Step 1
Understand where the best place to approach an NFL football player is. This time is usually right after summer practices. Go to a football training camp and more often than not NFL players will be signing autographs.
-
Step 2
Learn the football players name and call them by it when seeking for an autograph. Yelling out hey, you or something generic is likely to be ignored, because the player doesn't know they are being addressed. Instead call the football player by their first name or even Mr. So and So will be unlikely to get a response.
-
Step 3
Go to a NFL game and attempt to get an autograph before a regular season game. This can work, but buying a ticket just for an autograph seems silly. Also, if the stadium doesn't allow movement from section to section, it could also be very costly.
-
Step 4
Write to the NFL team and player and ask for an autograph. Teams will get the mail to a player, but a response will take awhile. Also, include a self addressed envelope and something for the player to sign.
-
Step 5
Go to an autograph show and pay for the signature. This is a guaranteed way of getting an autograph, but often seems very anti-climatic.
