Save Money On Food At Disney World
Save Money On Food At Disney World

Food in the theme parks used to be junk food like burgers fries everywhere. While the options may have improved the prices have not. Here are the simple ways we reduced our spending while at Walt Disney World with the kids. The youngest was 15 months, the oldest 16 years old. All were satisfied.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pack a small suitcase with easy to eat foods.
  • Find directions to the local grocery store before you leave.
  • Make sure you have a list so you don't need to fumble.
  • Pack snacks for all day in the parks.
  1. Step 1

First tips started before we left home. I packed a small suitcase FULL of things for breakfast like Quaker Oatmeal Squares, Mini packages of Jif peanut butter, whole grain Poptarts, mini pages of raisins, instant breakfast packets, single servings of applesauce, jello, fruit cups and apple juice boxes. As long as you check this you can take it all. I also added in treats for Easter. We packed muffin mix and pancake mix for a breakfast before going to the Water Parks.

  2. Step 2

We used our timeshare but if I didn't have one I would pick a hotel like Residence Inn that as kitchens in their suites. Then I went online and found directions to the grocery stores near the hotel. Made a grocery list ahead of time of things you can not pack...water bottles, milk for cereal and other things. Remember, prices are different everywhere but we had to save money by bringing some food from home because milk is almost $5 down there!

  3. Step 3

Then when we got to Florida we packed snacks for the whole day in the backpacks and diaper bags. A breakfast square can be eaten on the shutttle, yogurt raisins can be eaten on the monorail between parks as a mid morning snack, crackers and jif are great on line for a rollercoaster in the afternoon and jello is great for a dessert while watching fireworks. The more snacks you plan for, the less you will pig out in the expensive restaurants. Then you can savor the appetizers for really cheap!Enjoy your trip!

Tips & Warnings
  • Find things your family will eat. Things with protein will keep you all moving faster for longer. Sugar will cause meltdowns and temper tantrums.
  • Don't forget coffee. It can be dangerous in some circles.
