Things You'll Need:
- Creativity
- A map of each park
- The will to not spend money on crap.
-
Step 1
Okay, before you even leave the house, go to disney.go.com and order your FREE customized maps with your favorites highlighted. They send it out and you get them within 6 weeks. They are awesome and great for keepsakes. I left mine at home so we had something to do when we got back. They give you extra dots to fill in your new favorites!
-
Step 2
Then when you leave your hotel and get on line for the Monorail. Ask the attendent if you can ride upfront and ask to get your pilots license! It is cool for a 6-13 year old that carries a wallet to have an offical license. The kids went with my grandfather up front and had a blast. Grandpa said it was a thrill.

Step 3
At Epcot they have Kidcot Stops. They are great for involving the kids in the countries. They get excited about decorating the mask and collecting the cardstock shapes. Each country has something different to put on there. China adds the chinese year, my son was a pig. Morocco and Japan wrote his name in their languages. It was awesome.
-
Step 4
Epcot also has Kim Possible which is cool for adults and kids looking for a scavenger hunt. They give you a cellphone and it turns on special features in the countries depending on the mission you are on. Statues come out of no where, clocks turn around to show wooden figures and cast members get into it also. ALL FREE!!!!
-
Step 5
Animal Kingdom has a similar program called Kids Discovery Club where the kids get to collect stamps from learning. There is a section they learn about the difference between apes and gorillas, then they have to identify bugs. In africa there is a place that teaches you the cast members local games in Harambe and you get a certificate to keep. ALSO ALL FREE!!
-
Step 6
The last one I have was a little money but by far worth it. My son got his first haircut ever at the Barber Shop on Main Street in Magic Kingdom. It is $15. They wrapped up his curls with pixie dust, gave him a certificate of courage and 'First Haircut' ears. The guys were awesome and made it really fun.

on 11/16/2009 Wow, awesome ideas! We literally spent hundreds of dollars on those trading pins last year! The kids drove us nuts! Maybe this year's them can me collecting souvenirs that are more sentimental and don't cost anything. I like the haircut idea too! Thanks, I'm saving this to my favs too! 5* rec
