How to Make a Piano Bench Cushion

A piano player spends countless hours mastering his or her art. Piano benches are usually hard wood, and that can be uncomfortable because there is no padding, which may end up causing soreness or back pain. Creating a piano bench cushion is simple and will make the bench more comfortable for the piano player.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure out the size of the top of the piano bench. It is best to make a cushion that covers the entire top of the bench. Some piano benches are small stools, while others can fit two people.

    • 2

Mark the measurements onto the fabric. You must have two equally sized pieces of fabric for each side of the cushion, as well as extra room to sew the cushion shut.

    • 3

Lay the two pieces of fabric on top of one another. Sew four of the sides shut.

    • 4

Stuff the cushion, which now resembles a pillowcase because only one end is open, with the cotton stuffing. Push it into each corner and edge so it is packed full. You do not want the cotton to separate when someone is sitting on it. Once the cushion is completely stuffed, sew the last side shut.

Set the cushion on the piano bench to make sure it fits correctly. Sit on it to make sure it is comfortable.
