How to Compare Fuel Economy for Small SUVs

The United States Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency has created a website called Fuel Economy.gov where consumers can go to look up EPA estimated miles per gallon on all vehicles sold in the United States. The website allows you to look up multiple vehicles, including small SUVs, and compare their fuel efficiency side by side.

Instructions

  1. Compare Small SUV Mileage

    • 1

      Go to fueleconomy.gov. Under the box titled "Find and Compare Cars," on the left side of the screen click on "Compare Side-by-Side."

      Select the year of the small SUV from the list, then select the make of the car, and finally, the model of car.

      Click on "Compare Side-by-Side" next to the photo of the car. You will see all the fuel economy information about the first small SUV you chose.

      Select the year of the small SUV from the list, then select the make of the car, and finally the model of car for the second SUV.

      Repeat steps 3 and 4 for every type of small SUV you want to compare. You will see all SUVs you chose on the same page with their fuel economy information listed side-by-side, for easy comparison.
