Take the thumb and index finger of the hand without the ring, and hold either side of the thumb ring on the other hand. Tug on the ring to see if you need any sort of liquid solution to move the thumb ring.

Place the thumb with the ring on it under running water, if you need any sort of lubrication. This will help make the ring move a little easier.

Use your index finger and thumb of the ringless hand to turn the thumb ring left or right,
