Halloween is a time of treats and costumes. Creating a gift basket for a Halloween celebration is an excellent idea for a friend or new neighbor.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Medium basket
  • White cloth napkin
  • Orange fabric paint
  • Black fabric paint
  • Thin paintbrush
  • Clear cellophane (1 1/2 yards)
  • Candy corn
  • 5 tissues
  • 5 Styrofoam balls (small)
  • Bread ties
  • Artificial leaves (brown, red, yellow, dark green, orange)
  • Mini pumpkins
  • Fun-size candy
  • Gifts to fill basket (books, spa supplies, etc.)
  • Ribbon
  • Adhesive bow
  1. Step 1

Paint small, solid orange circles onto your cloth napkin using a thin paintbrush and orange fabric paint. Allow the circles to dry.

  2. Step 2

Rinse the brush and use black paint to create jack-o'-lantern faces and pumpkin stems on the orange circles. Allow the faces to dry.

  3. Step 3

Place the cloth napkin with the jack-o'-lantern designs in the bottom of the basket. Sprinkle candy corn on top of the napkin.

  4. Step 4

Arrange the items in the basket in an organized fashion. Keep the larger items at the back and the smaller items toward the front.

  5. Step 5

Place artificial leaves around the gifts. Sprinkle more candy corn around the gifts.

  6. Step 6

Place Styrofoam balls under the tissues and secure them with bread ties. Bring the bread ties upward and mold them into a "hook" (see photo).

  7. Step 7

Paint ghost faces on the ghost "heads" using your fabric paint and thin paintbrush. Allow the paint to dry.

  8. Step 8

Wrap the bread tie "hooks" around the handle of the basket. Secure them by twisting around the basket.

  9. Step 9

Place mini pumpkins in the basket. Arrange them around the gifts.

  10. Step 10

Set the basket on top of the cellophane in the center. Pull the cellophane up around the basket.

  11. Step 11

Secure the cellophane at the top of the basket using ribbon. Tie the ribbon into a knot.

  12. Step 12

Place the bow on the knot in the ribbon.
