Step 1
Dog HouseTraining a new puppy can be a challenge for many. Actually, it can be quite easy to house break your new pet. First, it is a wise idea to take the puppy outside about 20-30 minutes after eating. This is the amount of time it may take for some of the food and drink to become digested. Remember, a puppy is very tiny, food and water passes through that tiny system fairly quickly.

Step 2
Dog BoneIf by chance the puppy does make an undesired deposit in the house, make sure you show the pup the mess and make it known that you are not happy. I don't believe in hitting or striking a small helpless animal. I don't believe hitting teaches a pet or a person that they have done wrong. Also, if you do feel the need to discipline your pet try something else other than hitting. Hitting can instill fear that may last into the pups adult life. Make sure you reward the dog with a treat when appropriate. Obedience and loyalty needs to be rewarded. The puppy will get used to going outside after eating if you continue to train in that manner.

Step 3
Finally, make it known that you are the master and take the time required to be caring, loving, and a best friend to your beloved pet. Pets can add so much happiness and companionship to our lives. Animals are creatures of God and need to be respected. Most of all, enjoy every minute with your new puppy, they grow up very quickly.
