When you're short on time, here's how to give your living spaces the "illusion" of cleanliness. This was inspired by Clean House. Great show for some quick tips.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Living Room
  • Not Enough Time!
  1. Step 1

Pillow and Cushion Flipping! You've been sitting on your couch all week and they're starting to look like they have no life in them. One trick is to pick up the cushion, fluff it out, then flip them over. The Bottom side can look like a brand new cushion.

  2. Step 2

If you have pets, take some rubber gloves and wet the ends of the fingers. The lightly move them about over the hair. The pet hair will jump off the sofa onto the rubber fingers.

  3. Step 3

Got books and magazines on the coffee table? Stack them in neat piles on the floor or arrange them in a deep basket next to the fireplace or TV.

  4. Step 4

Pull the curtains so nobody can see your dirty windows.

Who wants to do windows anyway?

  5. Step 5

Take blankets and make them decorative. Place them over the rough or stained spots on a sofa. Add a little something extra like pillows to do the same.

  6. Step 6

Light scented candles or use wall plugins to add a freshness smell. Can't go wrong with Vanilla scent. <- Great tip for single guys.

Good Scents also cover up pet and smoke smells also.

Tips & Warnings
  • When guests arrive, be the first to say you've been busy and haven't had any time to clean.
  • If you can't do all the above at least have some scented candles on stand-by. Good smells give the illusion of a clean house.
