If you are a pet owner then you probably use carpet deodorizer and air fresheners to eliminate pet odors in your home. Everyone has seen the type of powder that you sprinkle on your carpet and then vacuum up. Did you know that you can make your own? Not only does it eliminate unpleasant odors it helps to naturally repel fleas and ticks. So why not freshen up your home and help keep fleas and ticks off of your pet? You can use this powder for carpets, rugs, pet bedding and furniture. After applying this powder to the chosen surface, leave on for approximately fifteen to twenty minutes then vacuum or sweep as usual. Use it on a regular basis to keep your home smelling fresh!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)
  • Borax
  • Lavender Flowers
  • Tansy Flowers
  • Orris Root Powder
  • Lavender Oil
  • Plastic container with shaker lid
  1. Step 1

    Mix all of the dry ingredients except the baking soda together.

  2. Step 2

    Add the lavender essential oil. Mix well.

  3. Step 3

    Add the baking soda. Mix well.

  4. Step 4

    Transfer the mixture into the plastic container. It will last for one year... be sure to use often.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure the container is air tight
