Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hacksaw
  • screw driver
  • faucet kit
  • If plastic - PVC glue and cleaner
  • If copper - sand paper, flux, solder and a torch
  1. Step 1

    Turn off water.

  2. Step 2

To remove old faucet and handles - Pop center caps off, take out the screw in the middle and pull off handles, remove the escutcheon rings and retaining nuts.

  3. Step 3

Remove downspout/spigot. Unscrew the downspout to remove. It should just slide out. It could have retaining screws.

  4. Step 4

Use the access panel. If you have copper pipes/fittings - They have to be cut and soldered together after you have the new parts. If they are plastic - they will need to be cut and then glued back together with the new parts.

  5. Step 5

You will need to use a hacksaw to cut through the pipe leaving enough room to re-install your fittings.

  6. Step 6

If copper pipes - You will have to sand the pipe, flux it, put the connector on, heat it with a torch to re-sweat it, and then solder the connection.
If plastic - Cut the pipe, clean it, glue the connectors on.

  7. Step 7

Install the retaining nuts into where the handles go. Put on the escutcheon ring.

  8. Step 8

Put on the handles, tighten screws, put on the pop caps.

  9. Step 9

Install downspout/spigot. Turn until it's in place.

  10. Step 10

Turn water back on. Check for leaks.
