Things You'll Need:
- Anti-bacterial soap. [or just any soap]
- Running water
- Triple antibiotic ointment
- A band-aid
- A sock
- A pillow
-
Step 1
Turn your running water on. Get it to a nice warm temperature that your foot can tolerate.
-
Step 2
Take your soap and lather it in your hands.
-
Step 3
Now start lathering it over your wound to get any rust out or any bacteria.
-
Step 4
Rinse your foot off and towel dry it.
-
Step 5
Now rub some triple antibiotic ointment on the wound. Do not put the band-aid on just yet.
-
Step 6
Rest your foot on a pillow.
-
Step 7
After about 30 minutes, you will want to put the band-aid and a sock on to keep any bacteria out of it.
-
Step 8
Sit back and try to put a lot of pressure on your wounded foot.

on 6/19/2009 Great article for summertime when somehow many feet find rusty old nails- one may want to contact their doctor to determine if a tetanus booster injection is required.
