White tea is not only good for you but can help you lose weight

White tea is the newly discovered (to us) weight loss diet aid. It's all over the news currently, but the Chinese have been drinking white tea for centuries and know the secrets of white tea properties. White tea comes from the same plant that green tea does; white tea is just less processed than green tea or black tea and therefor purer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Recent clinical studies have shown that drinking white tea increases your metabolism and keeps fat cells from easily replicating. It also has shown promise as a cancer preventative due to it's antioxidant properties. Even if you don't change your diet, drinking 4 cups of white tea a day can lead to a weight loss of 4-8 lbs per year.

  2. Step 2

You can buy white tea at most local groceries stores, but I prefer the loose white tea which can be picked up in any Chinese groceries. If your area is more rural, you can shop for white tea online. One good site for white tea is the Imperial Tea Garden (link in resource section below).

  3. Step 3

If you have loose tea, put a teaspoonful into a tea strainer spoon and drop into 6 ounces of water for 3-5 minutes. You can also reuse the tea leaves for the day - the tea only gets less potent but still contains the powerful properties which are making white tea a hit.

I actually prefer to make a full teapot of white tea and just sip on it all day long.

Tips & Warnings
  • Buy the best quality white tea you can find. Since white tea is now hitting the media, you'll find more cheap imitations instead of the good quality stuff on grocery shelves.
