It is almost Father's Day and you have bought the perfect card for Dad, or, it is Father's Day and you have forgotten to buy a card. A short personalized note will turn a store-bought card into a pernal gift, or it will turn a blank piece of paper into a keepsake that your Father will cherish for years. This article will give you quick step-by-step directions which you can use to write a personalized card for your Father on Father's Day.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First, relax. If you have bought a purchased for your Dad, he is happy, you could probably skip signing the card and he will love it! If you have not purcahsed a card for your Dad, use the heaviest weight paper that you have. This may be resume paper or this may be blank stationary that you have in the house for just this situation. If you do not have anything else, just use computer paper.

  2. Step 2

Second, start the note with a statement that opens the subject. This could refer to the occassion, "Mom, I am so glad to be spending Father's Day with you." or it could be a few lines of Father's Day Poetry. To find poetry quickly, use an internet search engine to quickly find Father's Day Poetry and pick a verse that is meaningful to you.

  3. Step 3

Once you have the subject started, use the body of the note to (choose any of the following) 1. express your wishes for a Happy Fathers Day, 2. reminisce on the fun that you have had together over the last year, 3. thank your father for something he has done for your recently, 4. offer to take her to lunch in the near future.

  4. Step 4

Closing out the note. This is the place in the note where you are going to make it personal and express affection. Stay within what you would say in person. For example, if you do not say, "I love you" to your Father in person, do not start here. Instead just sign the note with the salutation, "With Love, Son/Daughter". Other simple closings include, "I am blessed to have you for my Father. With Love, Son/Daughter". "Here's to another year of me being your fabulous kid! Son/Daughter". "I love you Dad, Son/Daughter".
