Things You'll Need:
- Target
- Arrows with practice tips
-
Step 1
Secure the pins in the sight by hand-tightening the nuts that hold them in place. Start with one pin and add others as you sight to farther distances.
-
Step 2
Set your target at the closest distance you want to sight for. Twenty yards is a pretty good start. Any shots taken closer than 20 yards should not vary much from your sight pin, as the arrow will not lose any of its trajectory that quickly.
-
Step 3
Draw back the bow with the arrow set, align the sight pin with your target and fire. Because it is sometimes difficult to shoot a bow consistently, take three or four shots before making an adjustment.
-
Step 4
Adjust the sight pin based on your accuracy. If you are firing high of your target, move the sight pin up. The pin can be moved in and out as well, to adjust the shot left or right. Use trial and error to see how much difference each adjustment makes, as this is dependent on the draw weight and other factors of each bow.
-
Step 5
Repeat the steps with each consecutive pin. The farther away you will be shooting, the lower your sight pin will be. This is why it is best to start at a close distance and move to lengthier shots.
