How to Make a Clay Amulet
An amulet often features a religious icon or a symbol meant to bring luck to the wearer. There are amulets designed to bring safe travel, attract wealth, or to attract love. You can make a clay amulet from polymer clay that is both attractive and easy to make even for the beginner. Amulets are usually worn around the neck but you can also make them into a bracelet or hang them from a rear view mirror in your car.

1
Roll a 1-by-1 inch piece of polymer clay into a ball. Press it flat on a smooth surface to make a disk. Carefully shape it with your fingers until it is about 1/4-inch thick and 2-inches across.
-
2
Use the clay carving tools to etch your design into the clay. Alternately, you can press another amulet or relief of the design you want into the clay to make an imprint. Poke a hole in the top of the amulet that is twice as large as your jump ring wire.
