Make sparkling Christmas bell-shaped ornaments from your old CDs using these directions submitted by an eHow visitor.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hammers
  • Common Nails
  • Threads
  • Sharp Scissors
  • Large Needles
  1. Step 1

    Cut CD with sharp scissors into five or six pie-shaped pieces.

  2. Step 2

    Punch a hole at the narrow end using a strong sewing needle or a hammer and nail.

  3. Step 3

    Insert thread or wire to form a loop to hang on Christmas tree.

  4. Step 4

    Enjoy rainbow colors in the sunshine or the reflecting Christmas lights.

Tips & Warnings
  • Recycle CDs that Internet access companies send you in the mail.
  • Teachers and nonprofit organizations can ask United States Postal Service carrier stations for the undeliverable CDs and other craft items that are normally thrown away. Address a letter to the USPS station manager and make arrangements to pick these items up regularly.

on 11/22/2005 If you're cutting a CD, it will have sharp edges, be careful around children. You might want to use a nail file, or maybe sand paper, to smooth the edges a bit.

on 11/22/2005 Start out with a plain CD. Use a colored ribbon strung through the center for a hanger. Put a bow in the center on top of the ribbon. Glue scented potpourri around the bow; drizzle with glue and sprinkle with glitter; then hang on your tree.

on 11/22/2005 Cut felt the size of the CD to glue onto the printed side of the CD. Press hand into paint and place it on the shiny side of the CD. You can then paint the date on the CD also.
