Things You'll Need:
- waffle baker
- hand mixer
- 2 egg whites
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. sea salt
- 1 cup buttermilk or sour milk
- 2 beaten eggs yolks
- 1 cup whole bran cereal
- 6 tbsps. melted butter or oleo

Step 1
Let egg whites stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.

Step 2
Blend together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt in a large mixing bowl.

Soft PeaksIn another large mixing bowl beat egg whites until soft peaks are formed. See illustration.

Step 4
Wholesome BranAdd buttermilk and beaten egg yolks into the flour mixture, stirring until well mixed. Fold in bran cereal, butter, and beaten egg whites.

Step 5
Using preheated waffle oven, bake per manufacturer's instructions.

Step 6
Serve with favorite toppings, such as syrup, fruit, apple sauce, etc. and enjoy.
