First thing your should do is write down what your business actually is. This will help you in the naming process. It should be a short summary of the complete business. What it sells, what it does, where it is. It does have to be a complete plan just a short small summary.

Once you have done step one the next thing you will do is come up with at least fifty different names. I know that is a lot but you need to have a large list to choose from and narrow down from. You business name is important so do not just write down two or three to choose from.

The next thing you will do is take the list and go over the summary of your business. Determine which ones fit somewhat and which ones will possibly confuse customers. The worst thing that could have is that your customers are confused about what your business does or provides. Try to keep it as simple as possible. Long winded names are never good. Two to four words are plenty. Anymore than that and it will be hard for customers to remember your name or what your business is.

Once you've narrowed it down talk to other people about your list of names. Get outside help. They could be family or friends. You might also be interested in seeking the advice of a business consultant. They have extensive knowledge in naming a business and could possible come up with a name that you have yet to think of that would be perfect for your business.
