How to maintain a Lace Front Wig (Straight or Bob Style)
A lace front wig is another alternative to a sew-in hair extension. The wig is designed to give a more natural appearance of your hair growing out of the scalp as the lace blends in with various skin tones. A lace front wig has been made popular by celebrities and is a more costly alternative. The lace front wig, when maintained well, can last between three months to one year. The lace front wig comes in a variety of styles including the bob and other fully straight options. Applying and caring for a lace front wig does not require a professional hair stylist. Instructions

1
Brush the lace front wig with a wig brush to detangle straight and bob hairstyles. Small-tooth combs and metal brushes shouldn't be used. Normal shedding is natural, but excessive shedding will ruin the wig.
-
2
Wash and condition the wig once every two weeks. Shampoos and conditioners used on natural hair can be used on lace fronts as well. The wig is made from 100 percent human hair.
-
-
3
Reseal the knots inside the lace front wig after each wash. Lace wig knot sealer should be used. Knot sealer shouldn't be applied directly to the lace part of the wig.
-
4
Use a wig stand when removing the wig to store it overnight. A wig stand helps retain the bob style shape of the lace front wig. Straight hair lace front wigs will tangle less often.
-
5
Limit the amount of heat used to style the bob and straight lace front wig. Rollers and hair pins can be used to achieve styles.
-
6
Braid straight hair up at night when sleeping in the wig. A scarf or hair bonnet should be used while sleeping with a bob style and straight hairstyle. The scarf or bonnet should be satin material.
-
7
Use a light moisturizer on the wig to help keep a shiny texture. Heavy creams will weigh down the wig causing loss of shape and damage.

Tips & Warnings
Always allow the lace front wig to air dry on a wig stand after each shampoo. A hair net can be used to tie the wig into place and help keep the bob or straight style from losing shape. Use sharp hair scissors to trim ends to minimize shedding.
Avoid using hair products containing high levels of alcohol on the bob and straight lace front wig. Do not use a blow dryer to dry the wig.
