Convert kitchen trash into a beautiful unique square vase for your Mother in only a FEW minutes. All it takes is an item that you would regularly throw out in your kitchen and some spray paint to make a unique beautiful square vase that works. This project is almost free - just a few pennies worth of spray paint.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Used box carton of broth, rice milk, etc.
  • Small amount of spray paint
  1. Step 1

    Clean a square empty carton of chicken broth or rice milk.

    Put a little hot water and soap inside, shake it, and pour out.

  2. Step 2

    Bend the folds on the top corners up, cut them off.

  3. Step 3

    Insert scissors into this opening to cut a nice straight line across the top, opening up the square carton into a square vase.

  4. Step 4

    Wash again using hot, soapy water or some hot water and a little bit of baking soda.

    Baking soda will cut the grease and eliminate any smell.

  5. Step 5

    Allow container to dry. Setting it in the sun will speeds thing up.

    Spray container outside with spray paint using long smooth strokes from top to bottom or bottom to top.

  7. Step 7

    If you need to turn the vase while spraying, just stick your hand inside the box and turn it to complete covering the whole container.

  8. Step 8

    Let dry completely, usually a few minutes to 15 minutes depending on your humidity levels.

    Add a few inches of water and some nice flowers. You have made a unique simple vase for FREE for your mother for Mother's Day in less than 5 minutes working time (not counting drying time).

Tips & Warnings
  • Use either your mother's favorite color or a color that matches her decor.
  • Making a vase is cheaper than buying a vase.
  • Put flowers that you cut or flowers from the store in the vase.
