CORPORATIONS - Contact the corporate headquarters of the stores that you would like to work for. Mystery shopping jobs should be directly with the company to be legitimate. If the company or department store is using a third party to hire their mystery shoppers they will let you know. At least you know that it is credible information because of your source.

WORK - Do the work that the company is requiring. A job is work. If you are not doing a physical task, it may not be a legitimate mystery shopping job. You may enjoy the work and you may even get to keep the items that you purchased with the corporations money, but it is still a job.

ILLEGAL ACTIVITY - Watch out for scams and for anyone that asks you to do something that is illegal. A true employer does not ask their employer to commit crimes, even if they are a mystery shopper.
