How to Build a Ski Waxing Profile
Avid skiers will want to have a ski waxing profile bench to care for their skis. Ski equipment is expensive and requires care to ensure the longevity of the equipment. A ski waxing profile bench allows for hot wax to cool off and the bench is equipped with special clamps that are suitable for the bow in each ski. The bench also works well when you are structuring skis or if you scrape the skis.

The Process
-
1
Align two 8-foot 2-by-4-inch boards so they are parallel to one another. Position one 2-foot 2-by-4-inch board between the two 8-foot boards. Attach the 8-foot boards to the ends of the 2-foot board with drywall screws.
-
2
Position a 2-foot 2-by-4-inch board 30 inches from the last 2-foot board installed. Attach with drywall screws to the 8-foot boards on each end. Repeat this process with a third 2-foot 2-by-4-inch board, attaching the board roughly 30 inches from the second 2-foot board installed.

3
Attach a fourth 2-foot 2-by-4-inch board to the ends of the 8-foot boards with drywall screws. Attach the 8-foot-by-2-foot piece of 3/4 plywood to the top of the board construction with drywall screws. Flip the construction over so that the plywood is facing down.
-
4
Attach a 30-inch 2-by-4-inch boards to the interior corner junction of the 8-foot-by-2-foot construction with drywall screws. Repeat this process three more times so that you have installed four legs.
-
5
Attach a 1-foot-by-8-foot board to one of the 8-foot boards on the wax profile bench. Use drywall screws to attach the board starting from the interior of the 8-foot-by-2-foot construction. Flip the bench upright; attach a second 1-foot-by-8-foot board to the outer edge of the first 1-foot-by-8-foot board, in a perpendicular fashion, to make a waxing trough. Attach with drywall screws.
-
6
Position the Swix profile onto the profile workbench. Make a mark with a pencil that marks the area along the ridge of the ski profile where screw holes are located. Insert screw eyes into the areas you have marked. Slip bolt through the first screw eye, the ski profile, and the second screw eye. Repeat the process for the second ski profile.
