Instructions

    • 1

Use a tape measure to determine the size of vent cover you need. Mark the measurements on your roll of bamboo.

    • 2

Carefully cut out the shape using a utility knife. Make sure to cut away from you to avoid injury.

    • 3

Reinforce the threading that binds the bamboo together by dabbing along it with a hot-glue gun. Place dots no more than 1/2 inch apart on both sides of the bamboo.

    • 4

On one side, squirt a glob of hot glue on each corner. The globs should be no bigger than the size of a quarter. While the glue is still wet, place the bamboo cover directly onto the vent in your home. Hold it in place until the glue dries.

    • 5

Add finishing touches to the vent cover. Tying red ribbons to the corners will achieve an Asian-inspired look.

Tips & Warnings

  • Glue can be dissolved easily using paint thinner, making it easy to remove vent covers when you are tired of them.

  • Hot glue can cause injuries. Use protective hand and eye wear.
