Instructions

    • 1

Mix two to three squirts of liquid dish washing detergent in a bucket of warm water. Carefully scrub the outside and inside of your skylight to remove any dirt. Do not press too hard with the brush, as this can damage the skylight.

    • 2

Rinse the soapy water away with clean water. Allow to air dry completely.

    • 3

Rub an auto paste wax into the outside of the skylight with a soft cloth. This will add gloss, fill in small scratches, and protect the skylight from the elements. Wipe away excess wax with a soft cloth.

    • 4

Inspect the seal around the exterior of the skylight. If you detect leaks or if the caulking appears cracked and worn, carefully scrape out the old caulk and re-caulk with your caulking gun. Leaks around a skylight can lead to water inside the camper walls and expensive damage down the road.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use wax on a cloudy day so the sun doesn't dry it as you work.

  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the plastic.
