How to Use the Lace Lock on MBT Shoes

MBT shoes were developed for therapeutic purposes. They reportedly improve posture and gait; help with back, hip, leg and foot problems; can help with joint, muscle, ligament and tendon injuries; increase circulation in the body; and tone and firm the muscles of the abdomen, buttocks and thighs. MBT recommends customers have a fitting and training session before buying to truly understand how they work. MBT replicates walking on an uneven surface so it activates more muscle groups than a flat surface shoe. They can be used for various fitness activities, and are especially helpful for those with flat feet or fallen arches. Each pair of MBT shoes is equipped with a lace lock. A lace lock is a device that keeps your tied laces in place so they don't become untied while you are wearing the shoe. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Lace up shoes as usual, but do not tie them.

    • 2

Press down on the button of the lock and thread each lace end through each of the respective holes of the lock. It is similar to threading a needle. Keep the button of the lock pressed down as you thread each lace through the hole.

    • 3

Let go of the button when the shoe is at the desired snugness.

    • 4

Knot each individual lace end at the openings of the lock to keep the laces in place.

    • 5

Thread the remainder of the laces through the narrowest part of the cord tip.

    • 6

Make a loop knot with both laces below the cord tip.

    • 7

Cut the extra lace just above the knot, using scissors, and cover the knot you've made with the cord tip so there are no loose ends.
