1
Read your pump's manual before attempting any kind of troubleshooting. It is important to go over the names of every part of the pump and their functions. If you can't find the function of a specific part, go online and type the part name in a search engine. This will save you time.

2
Check for a leaky pump. Water spraying from any part of the pump other than the spouts indicates a leak caused by the "threaded fitting valve" shrinking. Contact the manufacturer to replace the part.

3
Check for a noisy motor. The Aqua Pure Pool pump runs quietly when it is working properly. Loud cranking noises indicates cracks in the front and rear bearings. Lubricating the bearings will not help. If you hear loud cranking noises, you will need to order and replace the front and rear bearings.

4
Check the pump strainer baskets for cracks. Some Aqua Pure pumps will have a strainer basket to allow the pump to accumulate only water and not trap debris from the pool. Heavy debris trapped in the baskets cause cracks. Always clean the baskets regularly. If you notice even one crack, you must call for repairs or order a replacement immediately.

5
Check for overheating. The pump motor will constantly shut itself off when it is overheated. This means there is an electrical wiring problem inside the motor. Never attempt to fix any kind of electrical wiring.
