How to decorate a cake for Fourth of July. You can bake your favorite kind of cake and decorate it to make it festive for the Fourth of July.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • cake mix
  • vanilla icing
  • blueberries
  • strawberries
  1. Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix your favorite cake mix according to the directions. Grease and flour pan according to the directions. Bake cake and let cool. I like to flip my cakes out onto a sturdy piece of cardboard or a cake plate.

  2. Step 2

Completely cover cake with vanilla icing. Make sweeping motions across the cake so you don't get cake crumbs in the icing. You can substitute whip cream for the icing.

  3. Step 3

Wash the blueberries. Wash the strawberries and cut long wise. Take the blueberries and put in the top left corner of the cake. These represent the stars on the flag. Take the strawberries and line them in rows down the cake. Usually you can get 4 or 5 rows on a cake. These make the stripes on the flag.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't want to use vanilla icing substitute it with whip cream.
