Make a delicious chocolate soufflé

In this article you will learn how to make a delicious chocolate soufflé

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Confectioners sugar
  • 7 egg whites
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brewed coffee
  • 12 oz bittersweet baking chocolate
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 7 egg whites
  • 5 egg yolks
  1. Step 1

    You'll need the following ingredients.

    5 egg yolks.

    7 egg whites.

    1 1/2 cups milk.

12 oz bittersweet baking chocolate. (chopped)

    1/2 cup brewed coffee.

    1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

    3 tablespoons all purpose flour.

    3 tablespoons unsalted butter.

    1/2 cup granulated sugar.

    5 egg yolks.

    7 egg whites.

A little bit of Confectioners sugar just to garnish when finished.

  2. Step 2

Now, Preheat oven to 375 degrees, prepare all ingredients.

Melt the butter in a sauce pot on low heat, then whisk in the flour and milk and cook it

until it thickens. Stir in the chocolate; Stir constantly until it's all melted together. Remove

it all from the heat and add the coffee, vanilla, and half of the sugar. Add the egg yolks

    while whisking together.

  3. Step 3

lightly Butter a 2-2 1/2 quart baking dish. (soufflé dish if you have one)

Get a clean mixing bowl to whisk the egg whites, slowly add the rest of the sugar while

still whisking together until it stiffens a little. Fold what you just mixed together into the

soufflé base, then pour it all into the baking or soufflé dish.

  4. Step 4

Bake it for 35 to 45 minutes until you see the soufflé rise about 2 inches above the baking

or soufflé dish. Sprinkle some confectioners sugar on top and quickly serve right after you

take it out of the oven. (the soufflé will deflate fast).

(This took me a couple tries to get it right, but it's worth it!)

Now just sit back and enjoy!
