This article will explain how to use Word to make your own business cards.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A computer with Word software
  • Business card paper (Avery brand works best)
  1. Step 1

Open Word and go to Tools > Letters and Mailings > Envelopes and Labels, to open the Envelopes and Labels dialogue box.

  2. Step 2

When the dialogue box is open, click on the lower right hand portion marked "Labels."

  3. Step 3

In the next dialogue box, scroll down until you find the correct Avery product number for the business card paper you purchased. Highlight it and then click the OK button.

  4. Step 4

Back in the Envelopes and Labels dialogue box, ensure that the address field is blank and "Full page of the same label" is the only option selected.

  5. Step 5

Click the New Document button, which will open a new Word document set up in the appropriate template.

  6. Step 6

Enter your desired text into the first business card space. Once you are satisfied with it's layout and appearance, copy and paste your results into the other spaces.

  7. Step 7

Print a test copy on regular paper. Then hold it over the business card paper to ensure that the text lines up with the interiors of the individual business cards.

  8. Step 8

Print sheets of business cards one at a time, then bend them at the perforations to get individual business cards.

Tips & Warnings
  • I have found it is best to use Avery's business card sheets. They have a variety of options that can be viewed at this address: http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Products/Cards/Business-Cards/_/Ns=Rank
