How to Make a Facebook Page

If you have spent any time on Facebook, you've noticed that your friends become fans of certain celebrities, music groups, organizations and local businesses by "liking" their pages. If you're a business owner, you can establish a business page to promote your product or service. Although you can establish a special account for your business, it is easy to create a business page as an offshoot of your personal profile. Only an authorized representative of a business, group, band or organization can set up a page.

• A Facebook account
• Something to promote

1. Log in to your Facebook account. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Create a Page" link.

2. Click on the "Local Business or Place" icon.

3. Select a category from the drop-down menu labeled "Choose a category." Enter the business name, address and phone number in the places provided. Place a check mark next to "I agree to Facebook Pages and Terms." Click the "Get Started" button.

4. Use the provided links to add photos and information to your page. Send announcements to your friends list to start collecting fans for your business page.
