How to Install a Lexmark Ink Cartridge

Lexmark manufactures a large variety of printers, from all-in-one inkjet to laser and dot matrix units. Inkjet printers, the most commonly used by consumers in the home market, are relatively simple to operate. Their ink cartridges are similarly simple to remove and install. Replacement ink is available directly from the company or from third-party sources. You can replace your Lexmark ink cartridges in a matter of minutes.

Instructions

1. Turn on the printer and open the top. The cartridge will slide to the installation position.

2. Press down on the release tab and pull out the empty ink cartridge.

3. Remove the protective cover on the new cartridge. Remove the muzzle cap if your cartridge has one. Alternatively, unscrew the twist cap on the top of your cartridge.

4. Insert each cartridge, using two hands to replace the black cartridge.

5. Close the printer.

• If you have any questions, refer to the printer's manual.

• Recycle your used cartridges by using the envelope included in the packaging of your new cartridge.

• Insert cartridges immediately after removing the caps so the ink does not dry up.
