One of the most beautiful accessories a pinup girl can wear is an oversized flower. Finding them can be a little difficult and expensive, but making one is easy, fun and affordable. Here's how to make a custom pinup flower hairclip:

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Silk Flower
  • Wire Cutters
  • Hair Comb or Barrette
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Glue Sticks
  • Flat Back Rhinestones, match flower
  • FabriTac Permanent Adhesive
  • Toothpick
  1. Step 1

Turn on your hot glue gun and allow it to properly heat up; following the manufacturer's instructions.

  2. Step 2

Using your wire cutters, remove the stem from the silk flower. Make sure not to damage the plastic 'casing' that holds the silk flower together or else it will fall apart.

  3. Step 3

Now that you have removed the flower from the stem, attach the flower to the hair clip/barrette with the glue gun. To do so, place a small strip of the hot glue onto the hair clip and gently press the flower into place.

  4. Step 4

Allow the glue to dry completely. If you notice any glue 'strings', cut them with a pair of scissors.

  5. Step 5

For added glamour and charm, attach several flat-back rhinestones to the flower petals using the FabriTac Adhesive and toothpick. Allow the glue to dry completely before using.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always use caution when working with small objects such as rhinestones; especially with small children and pets.
