Step 1
When choosing your berries be sure to look for bright red, juicy looking berries.
-
Step 2
Look for strawberries with the green caps and leaves intact. Strawberries do not ripen after they are picked, so avoid any strawberries that are green or hard. They will not improve after you pick them.
-
Step 3
If a strawberry is too mushy or has signs of mold, avoid it completely.
-
Step 4
If you are at a pick-your-own farm or strawberry patch, leave the cap on the strawberries when you pick them.
-
Step 5
Be sure not to pick too many strawberries. Pick what you plant to use right after selecting them. Strawberries detiorate rapidly.
-
Step 6
Wash and remove caps and stems right before using. Strawberries detiorate quickly after washing.
-
Step 7
Enjoy!
