Step 1
First you must understand why you cannot go from blonde to brown in one step:
During the bleaching process, your hair is stripped of different proteins that give your hair it's pigment. You start off with brown, the next level is red, orange, yellow and so on. Natural blondes do not have the pigments in their hair, much like bleach blondes. In order to go brunette you must rebuild the protein bonds in your hair.
We do this by reversing the bleaching cycle. Yellow, orange, red, brown.
Start by dying your hair an extreme red color. Follow all directions on the package. -
Step 2
Now that you have added the red protein pigment to your hair, you can begin to add browns. The second color you should use is a Medium Reddish brown hair color.
Follow all directions. -
Step 3
This last step is adding the final protein pigment of brown. Now that you have built upon the first extreme red color, other pigments can attach themselves to the hair.
Use the dark brown hair color. Follow all directions.
