Reporting illegal aliens (immigrants) who commit hate crimes can be done by almost anyone. There are individuals who have entered this country illegally who also commit hate crimes against others. Reporting these crimes to the federal authorities is slightly different than reporting crimes by U.S. citizens.

Instructions

1. Start by writing a detailed description of the illegal immigrant suspect. Note the illegal alien's height, weight, hair color, clothing and any other identifying features. Hate crimes, and crimes in general, must be punished. Ask yourself: How do I know that this person is an illegal alien?

2. Take a photograph with your cell phone camera while the hate crime is being committed. Choose to document the illegal alien committing the crime with your camera instead of helping the victim, if you can. Acquiring evidence of the criminal act may be more important than helping the person. (I know, it's a tough call, but one you will have to make.) Ask yourself: If I try to help, will the illegal immigrant hurt me too?

3. Next, visit the Federal Bureau of Investigation website and find the telephone number for the local office. Call and ask to speak with a Special Agent. Give the FBI Agent your name, address and telephone number. Describe the hate crime that was committed by the illegal alien and report if you were able to take a picture of the suspect.

4. Then, visit the Homeland Security website and the find the telephone number for the local Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office. Report the hate crime committed to an ICE Special Agent. Give specific reasons why you believe that the suspect is in the country illegally. Provide any personal information that you know about the illegal immigrant.

• If you have strong evidence that someone is in the country illegally and they have committed crimes, you must report it to protect others.
