Get electrolysis. This is a permanent hair removal treatment that involves probing each hair follicle with a sharp needle that emits an electric current to destroy the root. Several treatments are necessary for complete lip hair removal.

Get laser hair removal treatments. Keep in mind laser hair removal only works on very dark, coarse hair and light skin. Make sure to get a consultation with a dermatologist before opting for this option. Keep in mind that multiple treatments may be necessary.

Wax the lip hair. It's best to use a type of wax formulated for sensitive skin as facial skin can be easily aggravated. Heat the wax to a tolerable temperature (test it on your wrist to make sure it's not too hot). Using a popsicle stick or small spatula, apply a thin layer of the wax onto your upper lip. Press a small piece of cloth onto the wax and rip off quickly in the opposite direction of hair growth. This treatment removes lip hair for up to four weeks.

Remove the lip hair by threading. This treatment is best done by a professional as threading takes some practice before being done successfully. With a threading treatment, a wound-up piece of thread is used to grab the strands of hair and pull them out by the root. Similar to waxing, this treatment removes lip hair for up to four weeks.

Use a depilatory cream to treat lip hair growth. Make sure you purchase a depilatory that is safe to use on the facial area. Apply a thin layer of the cream and leave on for about five minutes, then wipe off with a damp wash cloth. This treatment will keep the lip hair at bay for about two weeks.
Tips & Warnings
Apply some numbing cream to your lip area before waxing, laser or electrolysis to dramatically reduce the pain caused by these treatments. Rub some aloe vera gel onto the upper lip after each treatment to soothe and prevent redness.
