Talk to the Zealot located north from Mort'ton town, in the Mort Myre Swamp. Tell him you follow anyone but Zamorak, then accept the Haunted Mine quest. Be sure you have at least 15 Agility and 35 Crafting, as well as the ability to defeat a level 95 Ghost with a recommended level of 40 Prayer.

Pickpocket the Zealot Key from the Zealot. This is a critical item because without it, you cannot complete the Water Valve segment of the quest to acquire a salve shard at the end of this quest.

Follow the nearby mine cart tracks until you reach a mine cart at the end. Climb over the cart and crawl into the Cart Tunnel to access the Haunted Mine. Find a Glowing Fungus inside the mine to enter the Water Valve section of the mines located under the Lift.

At the Water Valve, use the Zealot's Key to turn on the water. A Mischievous Ghost will appear and you must both race back to the Lift. It is important that you beat him in the race to the Lift before he does, because if he wins, he will turn off the water and you must restart the Water Valve again.

Go up the Lift, then head south to climb a set of stairs. Enter the door to the west and try to get the Innocent Looking Key in the room. You will then be attacked by a level 95 ghost named Treus Dayth. Use Protect Missiles Prayer on yourself as soon as possible and kill him with ranged attacks or magic spells.

Take the Innocent Looking Key, which then turns into the Crystal Mine Key. This key allows you to open the locked eastern area of the Haunted Mine to access the Crystal Mine.

Use your Chisel to cut the Crystal Outcrop inside the Crystal Mine to get the Salve shard. Combine a Ball of Wool and the Salve shard to create a Salve Amulet.

Tips & Warnings
You can enchant the Salve Amulet, which boosts its attack and strength power by 20 percent. This can be done by completing The Lair of Tarn Razorlor miniquest. The Salve Amulet does not stack with other bonus effects from other items such as the Slayer Helmet. Only the highest status boost will be applied.
