Make a Natural Toilet Cleaner
Make a Natural Toilet Cleaner

By now all of us have heard about the Green movement and steps we can take to make our lives more eco-friendly and less toxic. So, if someone told you that you could make a great natural toilet cleaner that was non-toxic, biodegradable, and would save you money, wouldn't you want to do that? Of course you would, especially if the steps are easy. This cleaner is easy to make and you may already have the ingredients in your kitchen.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plastic Squirt Bottle
  • Baking Soda
  • Vinegar
  • antiseptic essential oil (optional)
  1. Step 1

Fill squirt bottle with vinegar. Each cleaning will take about 1/3 cup.

  2. Step 2

Spray the vinegar into the toilet bowl on all the areas you need to clean.

  3. Step 3

Immediately cover the vinegar sprayed area with baking soda. This will take about 1/3 cup. The combination of vinegar and baking soda should fizz. If it doesn't, spray a little bit more vinegar on the baking soda and it will.

  4. Step 4

Let the mixture fizz for 2 to 4 minutes depending on how dirty the bowl is. Then scrub the bowl with your toilet brush and flush.

  5. Step 5

If you want the toilet to smell nice and also have some extra antiseptic treatment you can add a few drops of the essential oil of your choosing, like lavender, lemon grass, or rosemary.

Tips & Warnings
  • Vinegar and baking soda are two great items to keep in your pantry at all times, not only for baking but for cleaning almost anything.
  • This an especially good way to clean if you have a dog or cat that insists on drinking out of the toilet. They won't be drinking any toxic products.
  • Let me know what you think, and take a look at my profile and other articles I've written. Let me know if there is something you haven't found and answer to and I'll write an article on it.
