How to Make Paracord Keychains

A key chain is a way to add a personal touch to your key ring as well as a way to make it easier to find your keys in a purse or pocket. A paracord key chain has the added benefit of being very useful in cases of emergency. Because paracord is so strong, it can be used to tie things up, and it can be pulled apart so that its threads can be used for sewing.

Things You'll Need

• Ruler
• Paracord
• Scissors
• Lighter
• Needle-nose pliers
• Key ring
• Ping-Pong ball

Instructions

1. Wrap paracord around your fingers three times, and then lightly pull the loops from your fingers but keeping them shaped.

2. Wrap paracord loosely around the last three loops in a perpendicular direction.

3. 

   Wrap paracord three times around the last three loops (that are inside the first three loops).

4. Place a Ping-Pong ball in the center of all the loops, and tighten your knot down on it. Leave the Ping-Pong ball in the keychain. It allows the knot to hold its shape.

5. Cut your paracord with at least 4 inches of tail left.

6. Seal both ends of the paracord with a lighter to prevent fraying.

7. Tie the knot onto the key ring.
