Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 10 g. #11 Seed beads (color A)
  • 5 g. # 11 Seed beads (color B)
  • 5 8mm Crystal teardrop beads
  • Pre-waxed beading thread
  • Beading Needle, Size 10
  • Scissors
  • Clear nail polish
  1. Step 1

Thread your beading needle with 4' of pre-waxed beading thread. String one A color seed bead almost to the end of the thread, leaving about 3". Bring your needle back through the bead and pull the thread taut. String on 19 more A beads, threading them all the way down to the first bead. Insert your needle through the first bead you added, plus three more to create a circle.

  2. Step 2

String two A beads, one B bead and two A beads. Count over three beads on your circle from where your needle is coming out, and insert the needle through that bead. Pull the thread taut. Repeat this step four more times, ending by threading the needle down through the first beads that you added and exiting through the B bead.

  3. Step 3

String three A beads, one B bead and three A beads. Insert your needle through the next B bead over from the one you just exited. Repeat this step until you have exited all of the B beads on the second row. Thread your needle through the three A beads and exit the B bead on the row you just created.

  4. Step 4

Begin your fourth row by adding four B beads, one A bead and four more B beads. Thread your needle through the next B bead over from the one you just exited. Repeat this step until you go through all of the B beads on the third row. Thread your needle through the next four B beads, exiting the A bead in the center.

  5. Step 5

Add four A beads, five B beads and four A beads to begin the fifth row of your egg netting. Insert the needle through the next A bead over in the center of the fourth row. Repeat this step until you have gone through all of the A beads on row four. Thread your needle through the next seven beads, exiting an A bead.

  6. Step 6

Add nine A beads, three B beads, one 8mm crystal teardrop bead, three B beads and nine A beads. Thread the needle through the center B bead on the next section of row four. Repeat this step until you have gone through all of the center B beads of the fourth row.

  7. Step 7

End your egg netting by weaving your thread back up to meet the loose thread from step one. Tie the two together in a double knot and dab a drop or two of clear nail polish to seal the knot.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can find wooden eggs as well as the beading supplies at your local craft store.
  • Pull the thread taut each time you make one section of a row.
